Rat****** is a multimedia music fest. In 2024, after years of collaboratively producing DIY music events in the neighborhood, @emmabellishment and @sober.dale created Rat****** Music Fest. We love rock music. And we believe that partying with your neighbors builds solidarity.
We take seriously our responsibility to respect our neighbors and are committed to celebrate and honor their generosity. Last year, neighbors of Emma’s Yard (last year’s venue) danced with us across the fences and passed hot dogs over. We feel lucky to be a part of this neighborhood.
And if we are partying in the neighborhood, we have an obligation to show up for the neighborhood. We believe housing is a human right, that no one is illegal and no one is disposable. DIY is urgent & a means of resistance. We take our joy seriously, because where our joy goes, our rage is welcome – Hard Times, Furious Dancing so they say (@snappedankles). This makes the revolution & resistance irresistible. And starts us building worlds in the ruins of the old one (@whenoneworldends).
